Whada Weekend!

Well this weekend's weather was AWFUL--the freezing cold wind mixed with all the outdoor activities just created a not-so-sunny weekend. It also made everyone's allergies go crazy! Yuck! I did get to bounce around to various functions all day Saturday though...I saw Zach play in the ASU scrimmage, watched the District Gymnastics Meet (way to go lady cats! district champs NINE years in a row!!!), and I got to sit in the horrible weather and watch the track meet. Caden hung out with me for most of the day...and we even started working on our Spanish! "Hola" seemed to be the favorite word of the day...and he tried so hard to say it all day long! Yesterday, though, was an AmAzinG day for Caden. He walked for miles on that dang treadmill! I was so impressed! He kept hoppin' like a bunny during the workout...and we kept teasing him saying that he was a "bad" Easter bunny because he forgot to bring us candy after all that hoppin' :0) He also did something different this time--he kept throwing his right hand up to the railing like he wanted to hold onto it while he worked on his walk. I held his hand there for awhile and he actually grabbed and held on when I let go! It was an amazing feat for the little man! (he has trouble controlling his movements/motions) He is such a precious little thing :0)
Anyway...this week is going to be just as hectic as the last! Everyone wash your hands and stay healthy! I will post some pictures of Caden's therapy session soon. Enjoy!

Oh and I would just like to wish Coach Todd a very happy birthday tomorrow on April fools! I Hope you have a wonderful day!

Peace...

Back 2 School We Go!

Well spring break was short and sweet...but now it's time to go back to school :0( This week has already started out crazy! I have a paper due at the end of the week and clinicals today were so hectic! My patients today were both very nauseated...and I have heard that the stomach bug is coming back around (everyone wash your hands, get plenty of sleep, and take some extra vitamin C.. pretty please!) The highlight of my week so far has been getting to see my precious Caden! For those of you that don't know...I take care of a little boy named Caden who has some special needs. He's so amazing and I am truly blessed to have him in my life. Caden got to stay home all week with his parents and talked non-stop about his spring break yesterday while we were in the car lol. I missed him so much! He must have really rested up because he did a GREAT job when we helped him walk on the treadmill yesterday at therapy. Well I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Check ya lata

PS- You can check out Caden's website to find out more about my cool little man

Spring Break

Well, spring break is almost over... already! This week has FLOWN by! It has been very eventful though. First...I started out the break with my 20th birthday. It was funny because someone told me that once you turn twenty..you grow up and your life really starts...but I feel like my "real" life started a LONG time ago! Ever since I started nursing school, I have been on a non-stop adventure of ups and downs, twists and turns, and a never-ending emotional roller-coaster! I don't think I've ever had the opportunity..or allowed myself the choice.. to be a carefree college kid with no responsibilities. For some odd reason I take school very seriously and study ALL the time (I must have WAY too much Max Parker in me :0) ) Anyway, my birthday was awesome and I received many gifts I feel I don't deserve. On Sunday I got to see my cousins and family on my Dad's side, which was so nice because we never get to see them. We went to Austin and stayed at the beautiful Hyatt Lost Pines resort! I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing weekend with their family or loved one. We also made a quick trip to the San Marcus outlet mall, which was amazing! Then I went to San Saba and fished/hunted (no i wasn't forced...I actually love to do those things!) for about a day. The rest of the week has just been spent running errands and spending as much time as possible with my friends and family! Whew...what a week! I don't want it to end!
I'm new at the whole blogging thing so I will attempt to post some pictures of the many festivities! Hope you all had a wonderful spring break!
